Have you tried crocheting?

I am not that skilled on crocheting but I have little knowledge on it and could somehow do some items through crocheting.

Just like purses, cell phone cases, baby bonnets and pouch. I just know simple strokes and will just add design on it through combining thread colors.
I had learned it several years ago at school and my late grand mother taught me about it since she really knows the crafts very well.

Anyone tried crocheting too?

I've never tried it, but I would like to. My friend was supposed to teach me one summer but it just never happened. Maybe one day I'll find a good teacher.

I remember trying it when I was in elementary school. But I would love to learn how to now. I think that it would be so much fun to learn. Maybe in the near future I will. I hope so.

I tried to learn how to crochet at one point but I just couldn't do it. The surprising part about that is that I am a pretty decent knitter. NOthing fancy but I can follow a basic pattern to make a blanket or what not.

I've tried it, but am quite bad at it. I did manage to crochet a blanket for nephew when he was born, but it literally took me 6 months.

I do not have the patience when it comes to crocheting. Back in highschool, it was one of our projects and I was assigned by my teacher to make a pair of gloves. I was so lazy to do it and even if I have the patience to do it, my work was really ugly and so i stopped doing it and I just bought a pair of crochet gloves in the mall. What do you know, I got the highest grade in class! Because my gloves was neat, and beautiful, and perfect. Up to this day, I have not told anyone (except you guys in this forum) that the gloves was not made by me, but just bought in the mall.

My grandmother also taught me to crochet. My skill level is not that great, but there are online crochet courses, with illustrations, that can help with your technique. Just Google 'learning crochet' and see what comes up. There are also lots of free crochet patterns on the Internet - it's revived interest in crochet considerably.

It's a great skill to develop, because you don't need much in the way of equipment, and you can pick it up and put it down whenever you have a moment. That's not so easy with knitting - if you put it down in the middle of a row and can't get back to it for several hours, you may be able to see where you left off when the garment is finished.
