Parachute Play
|
If you have a parachute you can have your children get a good work out from it. There are many things the children can do to get their hearts pumping and the blood flowing.
Have the children stand around the parachute and begin by moving it up and down. This will warm the body up and the children can get the feel of the parachute. Then add a ball into the middle and have them throw the ball into the air. This will help with their coordination as well. Another thing to try is to call names and have the children change spots. For example you may call Joe and Kathy to switch spots and then they will have to run under the parachute to where the other child was standing. This lets the child not only run but helps with following directions and identifiying others. Or you could walk around the parachute to get the blood flowing. Or try skipping if you need a change of pace. |
