Remove laptop drive

Is it possible to remove a laptop drive, connect it to a usb box, then use it in another computer to put some drivers in the usb hdd? (i have a ghost image pre installed with windows XP here in the corporate I work, but theese computers dont have the sata compability mode in bios, so I need to get the sata drivers there...)
