Shingels and what to do?

I was exposed to shingels and am now worried that I may get them. I have heard that they are very painful and I do not want them. I have had the chickenpox vaccine but that was years ago.

Are there any ways that I can prevent this from happening? Now that I have been exposed I have been cautious but when I did not know I was being exposed of course I was not cautious. Is there a way that if I do get them to make them not as bad?

Any help on this would be appreciated. I just feel at a loss right now. I feel like there is nothing I can really do but just wanted to see if anyone had any advice.
