Why is WunderList so laggy feeling... clunky?

I downloaded Wunderlist for my Retina Macbook Pro and it looks awesome. So I added about 15 todo items and I now realize that is feels incredibly laggy/clunky. For example, when you type a new list or move an item up or down.

Is there some settings I can adjust to make it less laggy or is this just how this software is?
